Wrong Paper Type; Load Tray 1 (MPT) with [size][type] Message

 Accessing the Tray Setup Menu and Verifying Media Type
Solution: Replace the Paper

  • This error occurs when a job that requries a specific size and type of paper is sent to the printer but that size and type is not currently loaded in any tray.

  • Replace the paper in the indicated tray or MPT with the paper of the indicated size and type.

Solution: Loading Tray 1 (MPT)

    Note: Remember to use the white Information Key on the Front Panel to gain access to additional, important details about the current display message, such as jam clearing instructions and information about re-ordering Supplies.

    Note: If you change the type or size of paper, you MUST specify the type and size on the front panel of the printer.
    Phaser® Phaser 25-Series Premium Transparency Film is designed specifically to work with this printer's oil-less fuser. Using non-Phaser 25-Series Premium Transparency Film might result in poor image quality and might damage the fuser. Damage caused by using non-Phaser 25-Series Premium Transparency Film is not covered under the printer warranty, service agreement, or Total Satisfaction Guarantee. Load Phaser® 25-Series Premium Transparency Film only in Tray 1 (MPT) or Tray 2 - do NOT use Trays 3 or 4.

Loading Media into Tray 1 (MPT):

  1. If needed, open Tray 1 (MPT) (labeled Tray 1 (MPT)) by pushing the handle down and out.

    2. Open Tray 1 (MPT)

  2. If needed, adjust the width guides to match the size of the paper.

  3. Insert the paper, transparencies, or envelopes in Tray 1 (MPT). Load the side to be printed face down with the top of the page entering the printer first. Do not load paper above the fill line. Place envelopes with the flap side up and top of the envelope towards the right of the printer. (For A7 envelopes, place the flap side up but have the top of the envelope enter the printer first.)

    4. Load Paper Load Envelope

  4. When the front panel prompts you and you haven't changed the type or size of paper, press the OK key to accept the current settings for type and size.

  5. If you have changed the type or size of paper:

    • Press the Down Arrow key to scroll to Change, then press the OK key.

    • Scroll to the correct paper type and press the OK key to save your selection.

    • Scroll to the correct envelope size and press the OK key to save your selection.

    6. Front Panel

        Note: To avoid possible print quality and paper feed problems, always make sure the tray's paper type setting at the front panel matches the type of paper loaded in the tray.
